Struggling with Creativity and Doubt: My Journey

Let me start with a quick backstory to help you understand why I’m wrestling with my creativity—it’s like a crazy puzzle I can’t solve.

Last year, I had this blog I’d been working on for two years. But then, one day, I just thought, “Forget it,” and took the whole thing down. It wasn’t getting much attention, and I felt like I was wasting my time.

I still wanted to share my stuff with the world, but I was too scared to try anything new. Doubt crept in, making me feel low and telling me I wasn’t good enough.

I even put off starting a podcast because I was afraid no one would listen. So here I am again, using a free blog and trying to kick-start my creativity.

Discovering “The Artist’s Way”

Last year, when I was feeling lost with my blog, I stumbled upon a book called “The Artist’s Way.” At first, I didn’t pay much attention to it. But this year, it seemed like everyone was talking about it, so I decided to give it a shot. I got the Kindle version since it’s hard to find used bookstores where I live. But I’m liking what I’ve read so far.

Dealing with Self-Doubt

Here’s the thing: I love writing and expressing myself, but I’m just not confident enough to share my work. I’m scared of being judged, failing, and thinking no one will like what I have to say.

Maybe I’m dealing with both a creativity block and impostor syndrome. Even when I do share my work, I still wonder, “Who am I to give advice or recommend anything?”

The truth is, I’m still figuring out how to live a life that makes me happy and fulfilled.

It’s easy to get caught up in what life should look like, especially when scrolling through social media.

Taking Steps Forward

To tackle my inner struggles, I’ve decided to dive into a 12-week course outlined in “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. I’m currently on Day Two, and I’ll come back with a full review of my experience. If I’m brave enough, I might even share it on my YouTube channel and finally get that podcast started.

Have you read “The Artist’s Way”? If you have, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s journey together as we explore our creativity and try to find our true selves.
